One Simple Thing I Do To Lose Weight…

I am excited about celebrating Mau Mau Libby’s 80 Birthday this weekend. What about you? What is one NON-WORK related thing you are excited about his week? Having something to focus on can help you get through the work week.

Likewise, having a deadline (something to focus on) for your weight loss can do the same. For example, I am 5 weeks out from my families annual beach trip. I weighed 219 this morning, my goal is to hit 209 in 5 weeks.

To motivate myself when I am tempted to go astray I will focus on that beach trip, it’s a non moving deadline. Plus, I let you all know about my goal, so I have a ton of accountability lol.

Now, one simple thing I will do to help me lose weight and feel full is drink enough water.

This is largely overlooked when it comes to weight loss. As a general rule you want to drink at least half of your bodyweight in ounces (or lean body weight if you are 30 – 50 lbs overweight). For me that means I need to drink around 100 ounces of water a day.

If you struggle to drink enough water, I suggest you follow a schedule like the one below.

  1. Drink a big glass of water upon waking first thing, 8 – 16 ounces.
  2. (On training days) Drink 16 ounces of water 1-2 hours before you workout.
  3. (On training days) Drink around 8 ounces of water while you workout.
  4. (On training days) Drink 16 ounces of water within an hour of finishing your workout.
  5. Drink when it’s hot and/or if you are sweating
  6. Drink 8 ounces of water before and after each meal.

 

Boom there you go, go be awesome!

The following items are my staples for this 5 week Weight Loss Sprint ;-)!

Low Carb Banana Pancakes and Turkey Sausage.

Breakfast is always hard for me because my day starts at 500 am. But this yummy breakfast only takes 2 minutes to serve. Even I can do that ;-). Plus, it is only 265 Calories, 9 grams of fat, 13 net carbs and 26 grams of Protein! So I might even add some peanut butter and syrup…;-).

Steak! Who doesn’t love steak…and fries? Grilled Marinated Steak with Rosemary Sweet Potato Fries!

There are few things that are more american or delicious than a steak! This masterpiece is made of a perfectly marinated steak served medium rare with rosemary sweet potato fries! I get sick of chicken, but never steak ;-). Plus, I don’t even need to feel guilt about it. It comes in at a mere 395 calories, 14 grams of fat, 18 net carbs, and 25 grams of protein.

Uncle Lou’s Chicken, Rice & Broccoli.

This is simply a Fitness Model stable. If you want to get lean and lose the muffin top, this is a must. Why? Because you get tons of protein and nutrients for minimal calories. It comes in at 492 Calories, 12 grams of fat, 43 net carbs, and 44 grams of protein. That macro profile is hard to beat ;-)! Plus, when Chef Dave makes the chicken breast, it is never dry and nasty ;-).
