Reduce Bloating, Drop Some Water Weight, and Improve Your Energy Levels

Today I am going to challenge you all to a 24 hour detox.

As general rule, I am NOT a huge fan of detoxes mainly because of how they are marketed to the general population. They are marketed as a solution for permit weight loss when really it just helps eliminate some bloating, water weight, and improves your energy levels a touch.

Detoxes are not a permit solution but they can help you feel better and get a jump start.

With that said, I challenge you to a 24 hour fruit and veggie detox ;-). If you are like most people, you don’t get near enough minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients from your food.

How this works.

For one 24 hour period you will NOT put the following into your body.

  • Caffeine
  • Dairy
  • Animal protein

You should eat

  • Salads
  • Fresh juices
  • For dressings use olive oil and or avocado

Disclaimer:  Chances are you will feel a touch tired the day of the detox. Bare with it, the following day should be a different story ;-). In this same vein, don’t plan a crazy intense workout the day of your 24 hour detox.

Here is a sample One Day Detox Plan:

  • As soon as you wake up, get a glass of room temperature water and squeeze a ¼ cup of lemon juice with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • Breakfast – Your favorite smoothie (like the pictures of mine)…BUT remember NO DAIRY, add some veggies. I like spinach, it has a neutral flavor.
  • Mid morning – I like Earl Grey tea and feel free to add an apple.
  • Lunch –  A salad with avocado mixed with olive oil as dressing then load it up with veggies.
  • Mid Afternoon: I do Earl Grey tea and some raw carrots.
  • Dinner: I repeat lunch but you can try a soup such as gazpacho.
  • Before bed: More tea

So, if you want to limit some bloating, drop some water weight, and get a little energy boost give it a try.
