Right now, as I write this email I am watching Nick crush a southwestern egg white bowl (He is probably the most important part of Just 4 You Meals lol), he also added in extra chicken breast it looks and smells delicious and now I am hungry.

First, protein has the highest thermic effect out of all the other macronutrients. That is fancy talk for it helps increase your metabolism…burn fat. Your body has to work harder to break protein, when compared with carbs and fat. That means your body burns more calories with it digests protein. For example, if you eat 100 calories of chicken breast your body burns 20 calories breaking it down. Which is about 15-20% higher than carbs.
Protein helps suppress your appetite and helps you feel full. It is hard to eat to much LEAN protein. Ever try to stuff yourself with chicken breast? You could eat a pound of it and still you will have only eaten 640 calories. This means you will feel fuller, plus it breaks down slowly in your body which keeps your appetite at bay. Plus…think about this, if you ate a pound of chicken breast for breakfast, lunch and dinner you would still only be at 1,920 calories for the day, but we both know that would be difficult. Starchy carbs on the other hand are super easy to overheat. 20 Doritos is 255 calories and you can eat 20 Doritos without even thinking about it. In short, eating lean protein helps you get and stay lean.
Protein helps you build muscle and muscle burns calories. Likewise, your body can’t build muscle unless it has all the essential elements (amino acids). This means if you do not have enough protein in your body, your body will actually burn your bodies muscle and keep its fat. Which is why starvation diets are a terrible idea!
