A Client’s Friend Lost 6 lbs…Want to know how?

A client’s friend lost 6 lbs by following my client’s advice she learned at Just You Fitness. The advice really isn’t earth-shattering.

My client simply told her friend how I had her logging her food on MyFitnessPal. MyFitnessPal is an app developed by Under Armour that allows you to track your food and it tells you how many calories you consumed and what your Macros are. What makes it even better is that this tool is absolutely 100% free : ).

After hearing about how my client has been logging her food and how she’s been losing weight and improving her body composition, her friend decided to follow suit. She simply went to her app store, downloaded MyFitnessPal and begin logging her food.

She wasn’t even concerned with what she ate, she just simply logged her food. And guess what? She started to eat less food and she lost 6 lbs.

Simple right?

There have been numerous studies that show that people who log their food in the long-term end up losing weight and keeping it off.

Why?

Because you become aware of how many calories, or better how much food you’re consuming. Most of us, including myself, when we eat, we think we’re eating less calories than we really are.

When we log it on the other hand, we see how MUCH we actually eat!  On average he eat two to three times more than we actually think we do…Crazy RIGHT?

Think about that. If you think you just ate a thousand calories of food at a meal, chances are you actually a 2000 – 3000 more! How quickly do you think you’re going to pack on the pounds and gain weight if that becomes a trend?

And the really sad news is, when you try to lose weight and you eat less food it doesn’t come off nearly as quickly as we put it on :-(.

How do I know?

Because I lived it, I once was 308 pounds :-(. It took me 2 years to get where I’m currently at, about to 220 – 225 lbs.  The process was simple, but it definitely wasn’t easy.

I still log my food and I eat predominantly protein and produce.  But the bad news for me and the good news for you is when I first started logging my food, I didn’t have MyFitnessPal, you do!  

Go to your App Store and download it and begin login your food diligently. I is a great tool to help you lose weight. Assuming you consistently log your food and consistently keep track of your weight loss. Because when you lose weight your metabolism will slow down a touch. This makes it necessary to eat a little bit less.
