Challenge: Practice Being Thankful ;-)

This weeks challenge is super simple, practical, and if done consistently can have a profound impact on your attitude…in a good way ;-).

I want you to write down 5 things you are thankful and/or grateful for each day. I prefer to write my 5 things down at the beginning of my day, that way I remind myself how blessed I am. Although I have heard some people prefer to practice this habit at night. I am not a night owl.

Regardless, I don’t care which time you choose, but I want you to practice being thankful. You don’t have to wait for thanksgiving, practice it now.

Also, don’t make this more difficult than it needs to be, these things you are thankful for don’t need to be profound.

For example my list when I wrote this was the following:

  • I am thankful for Beth’s (my wife’s) cooking. She is an AMAZING cook!
  • I am thankful that Axel (my son) likes to play Golf on my phone with me.
  • I am thankful for Kidz Week at Mercy Hill (the church we attend), my kids LOVED IT!
  • I am thankful for a soft bed, because I was exhausted after being in the hot sun playing with the kids yesterday.
  • I am thankful for AC.

Like I said, this list does not need to be profound ;-).  The benefits this habit develops is amazing. It has been shown to improve both your mental and physical health, increase your self esteem, and even help you get better sleep.
