This may be the single most important part of any fitness journey. I would guesstimate that 98% of people fail before they even start ;-(.
For you to be highly successful, You Must Believe You CAN!
I train an awesome, highly motivated client named Dee who lost over 50 lbs since last January. I am paraphrasing Dee, but this was her thought.
Dee knew I could help her, she also knew that the best training and coaching in the world would not make any difference unless she believed she could do it. Dee knew she had to be ready for the Long Haul. Dee knew it wasn’t going to be a simple, quick, easy task, but she knew she was worth it, and she knew she was worth investing in. Once Dee had that mind set, all she needed was the accountability and a plan ;-)! The rest is history.
You see, 98% of the people fail not because of the system’s, the process or even the lack of accountability. 95% of people who fail, fail because they don’t believe they can do it. As a result, their doubt defeats them before they even start. You have to have the mental toughness and awareness to stick to the plan and believe that you can do it. Regardless of how hard it may feel at any given time.
Speaking of belief! It reminds me of the Covenant God made with Abram. God promised to turn Abram into a great nation. Abram was going to be the father of a nation so large they would outnumber the stars in the sky. The only problem with this great promise from God was Abraham was really really old and he had zero kids. How in the world was an old man, with an old wife going to have numerous children? Let alone enough children to be the origin of a great and mighty nation when he couldn’t even father one child. Regardless of how difficult the situation was Abraham believe in God’s promise and as a result, God credit his faith as righteousness and Abram, became Abraham, the father of many!
In this same vein, if you want long lasting results you must believe you can do it, you must have faith! You must believe in yourself. If you believe you can, all you need after that is a simple plan to follow.

PS – I have a client named Lara who is interested in adding a core bonus day. She would like 2 other people to join her. The current plan is to meet one day a week for 20 – 30 minutes around 12:30 PM and get after it. The price would be around $10 bucks a session.
