Don’t be like me at 13….
Keeping it simple, you need rest, learn from my mistakes. I started “working out” when I was 13. For Christmas my parents got me a Barbell, some steel plates, and a book entitled, “Weight-lifting for Dummies.” I grew up as a Missionary Kid in Brazil...
When was the last time a piece of equipment or a doughnut has gotten you results?
Going to vent a little bit today. This morning I was waiting for some awesome clients to show up. They were running a little late, but the husband was the hero and lovingly encouraged the beautiful wife that they should get up and go to their training session. And lucky for the wife they made it, it was fantastic, if I do say so myself. They got to enjoy their customized workout, based on their personal goals. Now their legs and core are feeling blessed and they're closer to their goals :-). Anyway, I was waiting for them to show up and...
Secret “Amazonian” Fat-Loss Skills
Being Lean Is Habit Key idea, people who are lean are in the habit of being lean. They have been eating (practicing) being lean a long time. They didn’t get lean over night, just like I didn’t learn to play soccer over night. When I was 10 we moved to Brazil and in Brazil soccer is a religion. I was terrible, straight up terrible, plus I was morbidly obese which didn’t help (I was 225 and 10 years old, I weigh less now). The way I saw it, I had two options. “Accept my fate,” or do something about. I chose to...
Correct Your Posture For A Better Life
This week's challenge is going to be geared towards your posture. I used to be huge into posture and I judged and critique others for their poor or good posture in my head on a day-to-day basis when I was younger. Why? Honestly, I have no clue, but I just assumed that if you sat up and had good posture you just looked poised and confident. Which isn’t a bad thing, but having good posture is so much more than being poised and confident, although it is a great benefit. But the truth is when you have good posture, whether that...
You NEED this daily!
Yesterday was Monday. Probably everyone's favorite day of the week :-). I know it's my favorite day...
Operation Thanksgiving Day Success
Thanksgiving is almost upon us. This glorious tradition began in 1621 with Governor William Bradford and later was declared a national holiday by George Washington in 1789 :-). It is hard to find an older tradition than humans coming together and feasting. Getting together, enjoying good food and family is always a celebration. However, it is easy for us especially during Thanksgiving to overdo the festivities and set ourselves back and have regrets after the holidays. How many calories do you consume during a Thanksgiving meal? I'm not going to lie, this is going to terrify you. The average Thanksgiving meal contains...
My failed attempt at making Egg Salad, kind of funny.
The Start of the Battle is Making “Good” Food Yesterday, if you follow me on Facebook, you know that I attempted to make egg salad :-). You see, my wife's brother and his family are in from Canada. Which is fantastic, I'm glad that Ben and his kids could come down here and be around everybody. On a selfish note, that means that I'm left to my own when it comes to lunches and dinner. Yes, I admit I am helpless when it comes to making good food. I hope you paid attention to that statement, I can make food. I...
Happiness Jar Challenge
Happiness Jar All right, so the challenge this week is to make what people call a, “happiness jar.” I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of the name of a happiness jar. It sounds a little lame and a bit to girly to be quite honest. But, I can't think of anything else to call it so we're going to call it a happiness jar. This is how it works. When something occurs that makes you happy and or gives you a feeling of gratitude you need to write it down and you put the piece of paper into...
What is a Pacer?
Well there's just so many things to talk about, this was a great weekend. But, I think the most impactful thing was attending the Mercy Hill Church small group leader retreat. Beth and I learned a ton and had a great time. While at the retreat we heard the following story about a 60 mile race…. Yes, you heard me right, a 60-mile run! One of the pastors, named Bobby Harrington, is one of those ultramarathon guys that I think are basically psychos. These individuals will spend their weekend running a 50 to 100 mile race. Sounds fun right? To make it...
Do you get impatient and freak out?
Julio Jones This past weekend my dad and I were blessed with the opportunity to go to the Panthers versus Atlanta football game. It was a great game and a great experience. My dad and I both love football and we both love the Panthers. Whenever they beat the dirty bird Falcons it is an added bonus! The Falcons have arguably one of the best receivers in the game named Julio Jones number 11. This dude is a freak of nature, he's like 6’4” and got a six pack and weighs in at 220-230, plus he is super fast and athletic...
