This Week’s Challenge…BE PRESENT!
This week’s challenge is pretty simple….Be PRESENT
However, simple doesn’t mean easy.
This is Axel, my son doing his best to get me to pay attention to him and stop watching the Football game : ).
Simple means that the concept and the idea is easy to grasp, it’s even easy to understand. But for whatever reason we struggle, or at least I struggle to implement it.
As you know, I’m a doer, I confess….l’m a workaholic. For some reason, there is an inmate feeling inside me that I always have to be doing something…that I have to be performing work to get ahead.
This isn’t completely a bad concept, but when this desire distracts me and keeps me away from my family and friends its a problem.
So, I have to constantly remind myself and have others keep me accountable to be present.
In the same way, I’d like to challenge you to be present this week.
It’s Christmas today. This is the day that I and other Christians celebrate the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ into the world. There is no better time for us to sit back and be present with our family, enjoying them and thanking God for this precious gift.
This Christmas, I don’t want you to get sidetracked and think about your past mistakes or worry about the future or even to get distracted by stinking technology, unless you are playing videos games with your kids : ).
This is largely, your one day and your one week were you have nothing to do, but sit, chill, smile, laugh, encourage and love each other.
With that said… Go be awesome!
