My Life in South Korea and Water

Alrighty, peeps, water. It isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, but it is easy to neglect and it is one of the simplest healthiest things you can do. So drink up!

It reminds of when I taught English in South Korea for a year right out of college…9 year ago. Crazy! In the picture is my amazing wife Beth – white shirt, whom I met while working in Korea and in the middle is the “tiger teacher” as my students would call her, lol.

My work day started at 11:30am and went until 10:00pm Monday through Friday. Hardly any breaks were given, it was a little crazy, but honestly I loved it! The only major negative thing from a health standpoint was, I was “Too busy” to drink water. As a result, I would start to feel a little sick and lightheaded. Once I finally decided to make a priority and drink one glass of water between each class, I was good to go and felt much better.

Why? As I said earlier this week, Basically, everything in your body is able to function better when you’re hydrated.

Not only that, but EVERYTHING gets better when you’re hydrated… it will:

1. Help you to maintain a healthy body weight
2. Boost your energy
3. Help with digestion
4. Improve the quality of your skin
5. Help your immune system to function optimally
6. Help prevent depression
7. Help you get rid of toxins in your body

Here’s the good news!

Water doesn’t have to be ordinary. Try filling a bottle with water and add your favorite fruit like lemon, strawberries, or even cantaloupe (bonus, if you freeze the fruit first, it can also act like an ice cube)! It can add a wonderful flavor to your water and make drinking a lot more fun. Drink it slightly cool instead of cold and it will go down easier.
