Commit To Be Fit: Like Client X

Commit to be Fit

I wrote about this last week, mindset. It is so often overlooked, but it so important for sustained progress and results.

I am currently training an individual who would rather go unnamed so we will call this client, Client X. Client X has developed the proper mindset and has seen great results because of consistent action (commitment) both in regards to food choices, journaling, and the training plan. In the last three weeks, Client X has lost 20 pounds! What’s even better is Client X’s quality of life is dramatically improving. Normal day to day activities have become easier. In the past simple things were a chore and a dreaded experience, now they are just mundane. How awesome is that?

Fitness, fat-loss, building muscle, having a successful career, the list could go on and on it all starts in your mind. Ask any athlete, fit person, or successful business owner what the number one secret is to her success at fitness and/or life and she will tell you it is commitment.

Commitment means that you are in it for the long haul.

Commitment means you aren’t looking for a quick a fix. Commitment rises above bad days, hectic schedules and volatile emotions. Commitment hangs in there when you don’t want to do it, when you don’t feel like doing it and when you don’t have time to do it.

True commitment doesn’t depend on how you feel. It depends on your integrity and on living for the purpose you have set for yourself. This leads into two questions.

What is your purpose?
Are you committed to get fit?

My purpose and commitment.

More on this tomorrow. Please, truly consider those two questions. Here’s my purpose. My purpose is glorify to God with all my heart and my mind. I am committed to being a compassionate and generous husband and father to my family (Beth, Axel, and Kenna). I am committed to serving Mercy Hill Church as a community group leader and serving those under my care. I am committed to serving busy people who want to lose the jiggle in their middle by creating customized nutritional and workout plans. Lastly, I am committed to being fit, because I want to be able to play and be active with my kids.

What about you?

Now go be awesome!
