I Got Into a Wreck = Crap!

Ok, so the other day I got back ended by Tractor Trailer in my 2018 Camaro, HUGE FROWNING FACE! Getting in a wreck sucks! I am sure many of you can relate. There I was, just minding my own business in HEAVY traffic when, BOOM, Semi hits my bumper. I am 100% fine and the first thing I did when I got home was workout lol. Why? Because working out for me therapy.

Before I worked out I was tense, anxious, annoyed, etc. But once my muscle and body started to burn and swell, I forgot about the accident and was able to decompress and get on with my work day. What a blessing (if I train you, you should have just laughed…only you know why lol ;-).

Any way, so far this week you should understand that having a training and nutrition plan is vitally important, you should also understand that resting and following your purpose is also HUGE. Today, you are going to discover that deception, half truths, and excuses are going to get you nowhere in the quest of your fitness goals.

To illustrate this I am going to talk about the Fall. The Fall is the biblical account when humanity chose to follow deceptive half truths and then play the blame game. This is how it went down. Sometime (we don’t really know how long) after God created everything Eve was walking around the Garden of Eden and a Satan, in the form of a snake started to chat her up saying, “Did God really say, ‘you must not eat from any tree in the garden?” Eve, responded by saying, “No. We can eat from any tree we like, BUT the tree in middle of the garden. If we eat from it we will die.” This was the snake setting Eve up for the kill if you will.

The snake then stated, “Surely you will not die! God just doesn’t want you to be like Him. Go ahead…take a bite. You won’t die.”

Guess what, Eve and Adam did take a bite. You know what else..? They didn’t die…instantly any way…but I haven’t seen them around either. In the biblical narrative, this is when The Fall occurred, this is when death, pain, suffering, and car wrecks (maybe a little far lol) entered into the world and destroyed perfection.

Plus, to make matters worse Adam and Eve blamed the snake, each other, and even God for their mistake. There was zero ownership of their mistakes…only excuses.

Bummer right!? But what has this got to do with your fitness goals?

Let me tell you another story. Your loving and kind trainer tells you, “Hey, you can eat anything you like, just don’t eat go over your calorie goal.” Or maybe he or she says, “Eat anything thing you like, just make sure you are getting at least 100 grams of protein.” This one is even better, your DOCTOR says, “Sure you can eat ice cream and cake, but if you continue to do so it will kill you…”

See my point? Sure you can eat whatever you want, but if you over do it, even if it is good thing, it can kill you at worst and at best rob you of your fitness goals. Plus, if you blame your friends, situations, etc and don’t take any personal responsibly you are only deceiving and hurting yourself.

How many time have you listened to your good hearted friends say, “It’s just a piece of cake, its only one pizza, one cookie won’t hurt you.” My guess is you have heave heard that a lot and truth be told in moderation they are correct, but so often the exception becomes the rule. When this happens, kiss your fitness goals goodbye ;-(. Then, when you get on the scale and see the number go up and not down you blame your friends, family, maybe even your trainer lol.

Moral of the story, stick to a plan and do not fall prey to deceptive half truths and excuses. You are better than that ;-)!
