Does your world feel chaotic? Do you want to gain some control?

The other day I met with two different women, at two different times who each described their lives as a little crazy and uncontrollable. They are both right, there are very few things that we really have the power to control.

Think of your kids, you can greatly influence them, give them your time, give them your wisdom and love. But at the end of the day, the choices they make are up to them. Think of your job. Especially if you are responsible for others. Once again, you can mentor them, help them with projects, give them advice, etc. But at the end of the day, you can only influence their choices at best. Or what if your boss is less than sub-par? You come in one day thinking you will be doing X, but then you are told you will be doing Y. But you didn’t bring file or item Z with you because you thought you were going to be working on X. The number of scenarios are endless…but I think you get the point, there is little we can control.

Taking Control

Going back to these two women, they both stated they couldn’t control much in their lives but they wanted to learn to control their bodies (lose fat, tone-up, and become healthier). That was their real goal. They both knew what they needed to do but just could never to do it on their own, they asked me to provide the structure and accountability. Which is what I am all about : ). This is what that looks like.

What Does That Look Like?

I provide structure by teaching and guiding my clients through the 11 habits of nutrition (Plan, Shop, Cook, Journal, Protein, Calories, Slow, 80%, Healthy Fat, Quality Carbs, and Gratitude). Each step takes about 2 to 4 weeks to master. Once the habit is mastered we move on to the next one. Through the 11 habits, I teach my clients how to create (plan) a meal, then assist them walk through the other steps. I keep them accountable to this process by checking their scale weight (week 1), measurements (week 2), and body fat percentage (week 3), then repeat. This creates a narrative and a food log, so if we ever get stuck we can look back and see what needs to be fixed.

Second, I provide structure by creating customized workout plans for my clients. I keep them accountable by motivating and pushing them to give their best. I also document the amount of weight they used so they can continue to make progress. The number one biggest mistake I see, is people using the same weights doing the same number of reps and expecting to see change. That won’t happen, you have to push your body to get it to change.

Regardless, we live in a crazy and chaotic world where we can’t control much. The good news is, is we can control what we do with our bodies and what we put into your bodies.

Have a great week! Finish strong!

Go and be awesome!
