Go ahead, spoil yourself…

You need to be Spoiled!

This week I have a unique challenge for everyone.

I know most of you work extremely hard not only at work, but also at home. The truth is most of us have so many stinkin things going on, that we are the last ones we think of or make a priority for. We think of our kids, we can have our spouses, we think of our boss, etc. This can be brain numbing and stressful. The point is, rarely do we ever do anything special for ourselves. I’m going to give you an excuse to spoil yourself.

So this week’s challenge is I want you to go spoil yourself for at least 60 minutes! That’s right, you’ve earned it. Plus, I’m going to give you the excuses you need to make it happen.

  1. You won’t get fried. If you’re like me and many others who are successful and driven you are constantly on-the-go and rarely ever stop to chill. This can be emotionally, physically, and mentally, exhausting. if you take a moment to chill the chances of you burning out go down. You are good to no one when you are fried.
  2. Spoiling yourself can serve as a motivator. As you are aware, working all the time can be mentally and physically draining. But….what if you chose to spoil yourself with a massage? So at the end of a hard day you have that extra motivation to keep going, knowing your massage is almost there. I bet you would work harder, more productively, plus you would get to spoil yourself. It is a true win-win!
  3. Be good to yourself, so you be good to others. Simple but true, when you’re kind to yourself, when you’re happy with yourself, the chances of you being a better listener, co-worker, spouse, and parent will go up as well. So by spoiling yourself, you’re actually spoiling others : ). Don’t be selfish.
  4. It will lift your mood. So what do you love to do? Whatever you just thought, go do it, do something that brings you joy and happiness. And if you’re paranoid about the amount of time it will take, just do it for a little bit, do it for like 20-30 minutes. Once again go spoil yourself.
  5. You’ll feel better. Trust me, being able to step away from the chaos of day-to-day life and your normal routine is refreshing. I’ll admit, it’s hard to do but extremely beneficial. Just take 20-30 minutes or even an hour to treat yourself. It will make you feel like a brand new person. Which is probably good for everyone :-).

All right here a couple ideas.  Spa service. This could include but not limited to a massage, pedi, mani, haircut maybe even a facial. You could go golfing. I personally love going to the movies and or reading a book. Go on a nice little stroll through your neighborhood. Go watch sports…LOL, I can’t help myself. Maybe…take a nap while you watch sports. That’s one of my favorites. I can go on and on.

The point is, you do a ton for others and you work really hard. So once again, the challenge this week is for you to spoil yourself. Try to block off 60 Minutes during your week and spoil yourself you totally deserve it.

Go be awesome!

KELLEN LAKE – I will go see a movie : )
