How to get the end result…starts with celebrating small successes.

I will give you a personal, real life example.

My desired end result is to have a state of the art personal training studio. If I only focused on the end. I could easily get discouraged and distracted…not to mentioned depressed. Instead, just like when I teach a client a new nutritional habit (Habit 1 Planning, Habit 2 Shopping, etc), I focus on actions, not outcomes. I focus on what I can control and do to get to the desired outcome. It’s a mindset thing.

Practically this means. I sat down with my dad (who was a contractor) and we planned out the steps we needed to take to build a training studio.

Step 1: Framing, we did it. Took longer than expected, but I celebrated it. That was a success.

Step 2: Pass Framing inspection. We passed the first time…thank you dad! That was a success…I celebrated it!

Step 3: Hire an Electrician and HVAC people to do the lighting and climate control (12 canister lights on a dimming switch, TV hook-up, AC, Heating, etc). They just finished and passed inspection. That is a success, I celebrated!

Step 4: Prepare for insulation and insulation inspection. I ordered the insulation it arrives today and we install it today. When we finish it I will….CELEBRATE IT.

Do you see the come pattern? I celebrate every ACTION STEP that I successfully do. The outcome takes care of itself.

You should do the same. If you have a weight loss goal, you shouldn’t wait to celebrate hitting your goal. You should celebrate small measurable steps, like planning every meal you will eat for breakfast. Bonus tip, when you plan your meals, start with protein…NOT cards! By focusing on action steps you will see results, build habits for a lifetime, and arrive at your goal, as well as make adjustments if needed.
