Develop These Two Habits For Fast Weight Loss

The Question?

When I sit down with a new client we fill out paperwork, we talk about their goals, what they’ve done, where they want to go, excetera. One of the big questions that I ask every single time is, “What do you eat everyday?”  I’m just trying to get a snapshot  of their eating habits.

More often than not I hear the following, “I don’t eat breakfast, I just drink coffee.” or “I have coffee with a bagel or slice of toast with jelly.”

In short, a lot of caffeine and a lot carbs

Obviously this is less than ideal, especially if you are trying to lose weight. However, instead of dwelling on the negative, this week’s challenge has you focusing on developing two habits that will have you losing weight in no time…IF you consistently follow them.

These are the two habits:

  1. I want you to always eat something green
  2. I want you to always have something with protein in it.

Honestly, this shouldn’t be that hard as long as you have a plan, and shop wisely.  I’ve actually made it even easier for my clients to do just that. I provide them with a meal planning guide, a fat loss guide, a cookbook, and a guide about healthy eating on a budget. Right now, you can get all of the above if you sign up for my December promotion https://winstonsalem.justyoufitness.com/offer.html.  But you can look at that more at the end, back to the Challenge.

Awareness

If you accept this challenge, you are going to become much more aware of what you are eating. A lot of times, including yours truly, we mindlessly eat and aren’t really aware of the amount of calories or what kind of foods were putting inside of our bodies.

But, ff we follow this challenge we’re going to create awareness and we’re really going to understand what we’re eating throughout the day. Which translates into inches and weight lost!

No, this isn’t crazy difficult. Especially if you take me up on my offer above and below.

Here’s an example of 1 day of following the rules of one thing of protein, one thing of greens.

For breakfast you could have eggs with sauteed onions, maybe you’re like me and you want to try some peppers as well. You can scramble your eggs with the sauteed onions and peppers and then add that to a slice of Ezekiel Bread. Yummy.

For lunch you can get some turkey, some lettuce, and an apple or perhaps a banana. And there you go, hardly any prep work required, super fast and easy. You can wrap the turkey in the lettuce, maybe put on some mustard, perhaps even add a pickle or two. And then for your sweet treat you can have a banana or an apple. Obviously, an apple is going to be better if your goal is weight loss, but either one is likely much better than your normal choices.

For a snack, a simple thing to do is grab some celery sticks, carrot sticks, and a thing of peanut butter. When I say peanut butter, I prefer organic natural peanut butter. My wife does this amazing thing where she buys honey roasted peanuts and grinds them up in our food processor and it is divine. And yes, I realize they are honey-roasted, there’s a little bit of sugar because of the honey, but it’s so mynewt and it’s deliciousness factor is HUGE! Just don’t sit down and eat the whole thing :-).

For dinner I would go with a steak and asparagus. Simple and amazingly delicious. Especially, if Beth Lake is the one who cooks it, because she is an amazing cook :-).

SEE, That doesn’t sound so terrible does it?

What did I tell you? That doesn’t sound absolutely terrible does it? It’s not terribly difficult to eat one thing of protein, and one thing of greens at every meal. Plus, doing this is going to give you more energy throughout the day. Which during the holiday season is extremely important in my opinion. Plus, you have better stamina for your workouts, assuming you work out :-). And you’re going to wake up more refreshed and ready to take on your day by eating like the above.

So…are you up for the challenge of one thing of protein, and one thing of greens at every meal?

If your answer is yes, I’d love to know about it. Shoot me an email and I’ll send you the resources that I listed above. I’ll send you my fat loss guide, my cookbook, my easy meal planning guide, and eating on a budget guide as well.
