Are you getting hurt and injured when you workout?
Alrighty, yesterday we talked about the importance of having a workout and nutrition plan. Just like God didn’t mindlessly create the world, you shouldn’t mindlessly workout and haphazardly eat whatever you want and expect amazing results...
Going to vent a little bit today.
This morning I was waiting for some awesome clients to show up. They were running a little late, but the husband was the hero and lovingly encouraged the beautiful wife that they should get up and go to their training session. And lucky for the wife they made it, it was fantastic, if I do say so myself. They got to enjoy their customized workout, based on their personal goals. Now their legs and core are feeling blessed and they're closer to their goals :-). Anyway, I was waiting for them to show up and I saw a commercial about a...
Being Lean Is Habit
Key idea, people who are lean, are in the habit of being lean. They have been eating (practicing) being lean a long time. They didn’t get lean over night, just like I didn’t learn to play soccer overnight. When I was 10 we moved to Brazil and in Brazil soccer is a religion. I was terrible, straight up terrible, plus I was morbidly obese which didn’t help (I was 225 and 10 years old, I weigh less now). The way I saw it, I had two options. “Accept my fate,” or do something about it. I chose to take action and...
Fact or Fiction: Once you stop lifting weights your muscle will turn to fat?
I honestly can’t even believe this myth exists lol. I am guessing it exists because when big bulky dudes stop lifting weights and stop being active, but continue to eat the same amount they get rounder...
Are you stiff?
This week’s challenge is something I am 100% terrible at! I hate it, I don’t like doing it, it is likely how most people feel about working out. This week...
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” Zig Ziglar
What gets you up and going? In your day to day life, what motivates you to show up at your job, to go work out, and eat right? It's one word, it's motivation. I think this quote from Zig Ziglar summarizes what I'm trying to say, “People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.” Besides being a funny quote, I think it shows some real value. So many people, including myself need motivation to get the tasks and even the things that we enjoy doing done. The other day, I trained a...
Weekly Challenge, Are You In?
Alright, this week’s challenge was inspired by own self imposed diet leading up to Christmas. I am only eating protein (meat) and produce (veggies). After 4 days I went from 230 to 221.8 and the magic is not in the meat and veggies. The magic is my calories are much lower. Why? Because, I cut out all the mainly empty carbs I was eating. Any way, that is not the point of this challenge. The challenge this week is to enjoy your food, yep you read that right! Often we eat as if this was the last time we would...
Amee lost 4 lbs over a long Weekend!
Today’s success story is all about Amee! But first some accountability regarding this week’s challenge. Have you reached out and contacted some old friends or family members? Reconnecting with old friends and family members helps keep you grounded and reminds you of your roots and how far you have come :-). How as your life changed since you last spoke with them? Are there things you miss and want to start doing again? Are you now grateful for things and experiences that hurt at the time but were fundamental to who you have become? Reflecting on the past can be...
Weekly Challenge: Connect with an old friend.
The past couple of weeks I have felt a little guilt...
