Well I am super tired, I am sure a lot of you can relate. It are times like theses that it is easy to focus on what is not working and think about all the crap that you have to deal with. The only problem with that is you aren’t likely to find a solution to your problems.
We have all been there. Something bad happens, we get upset and we blame and yell and point our fingers at someone else. To make matters “better” we then go and tell everyone we know about what happened and on your way to tell the other person what happened we keep replaying the events and letting our emotions build up. All the while, the problem still exists and isn’t going anywhere.
Right before I started writing this I was reviewing some of my earlier posts. At that time we were looking for a house to buy so I could build out a private personal training studio. It took us almost a year to find the perfect house in the perfect location. It would have been easy to dwell on the negative and get frustrated and upset, but thank God we didn’t. We just kept looking and kept taking action. We knew we couldn’t control the market and what it did, but we could control how we responded to the market.
The same paradigm or process can work for you to in your fitness journey. Stop dwelling on your mistake and letting them define you. Start taking action, one habit at a time. That is what I teach my clients. It doesn’t have to be a huge habit either. It can be something small, liking eating breakfast every day, drinking one glass of water before you eat, adding one serving of protein to your evening meal, etc. The list could go on and on. The point is, consistent effort and staying focused on your goal will get you results. Dwelling on what is not working and then venting about it rarely helps at all.
Now go be awesome!
