3 Reasons Why You Have Failed To Lose Weight and How To Prepare For A Transformation: Aka A NEW BEGINNING!

It’s finally spring and I think it’s safe to say that the cold weather is officially gone and it probably won’t snow :-). With spring comes a sense of renewed energy and a chance to be prepared to celebrate new fresh ideas and practices.

If you’re like most people you are ready to shed the old self and put on the new. This feeling maybe even more intense if you haven’t been consistently working out and improving your fitness and eating habits. You may even feel sluggish and tired but inside your mind you desperately want to break out of that pattern and start anew. In short you want to transformation.

And to be blunt, that’s why I exist.

I help people just like you move from where they currently are, their current reality, to their dream. It is simple, but it is not easy. I won’t promise you the moon, but what I can promise is if you give me a hundred percent of both your training and your nutrition you will get the body of your dreams. Motivating people to improve their fitness and lose weight is what I do best. But like I said earlier, you have to let me help you!

With that said let’s get started!

Before you embark on any journey you must do a quick look back to assess what you’ve done, what’s worked, what hasn’t and then plan for the future. Truth be told we are mainly going to focus on what is ahead of you. The past cannot be changed, so we are going to largely leave it behind us. However to put our best foot forward we need to make sure we understand what has worked and what has sabotage.

Below is my list of the three reasons why people have failed to loss weight.

  1. Support – How often have you tried to get fit on your own with little to no support? Probably more times than you can count. How has that work for you? For 95% of you, you have tried numerous times and you have not succeeded,…. yet! The fact of the matter is trying to change your lifestyle alone is next to impossible. Those who do succeed are those who are innately disciplined and driven, which are few and far between. Part of the problem is this approach often gets sabotaged by those in your close circle. Oftentimes your friends, your family and the people that you’re close to intentionally or unintentionally sabotage your efforts. These people, even though they love you and they want the best for you unintentionally resent the amount of time you are taking away from them by working out, some of them mau even ridicule you for changing your diet. But…this time is going to be different, this time you will find support and it will make a difference and this difference will shock you. If you aren’t training with me this is of vital importance, find someone who will support you and keep you accountable.
  2. Lack of Planning –  The biggest sabotage to anyone’s fitness plan and nutrition regime is lack of planning. As coach John Wooden says, “Not preparing, is preparing to fail.” If you have tried to get fit in the past and have not succeeded. You probably came up short because you failed to plan. You must have forethought and you must be intentional. If you do not think ahead, if you do not plan your eating habits, if you do not get enough sleep at night, if you do not stick to an exercise plan you are doomed to stay the same. So once again, if you are not training with me you need to plan before you start. Get an exercise plan put together (or have me make one for you for $50.00), Make sure you get 7 hours of sleep a night, ideally go to bed at the same time each night, and prepare your meals ahead of time and choose what Fat Loss System you are going to use, (My top three). If you need help choosing which one to follow click this link and you can see three strategies that I recommend, click here https://winstonsalem.justyoufitness.com/2-fat-loss-systems-a-weeks-worth-of-meals/
  3. Impatience – And now my favorite, impatience! In our society instant gratification is absolutely everywhere. I don’t care what you saw on Facebook, what the newest magazine you just picked up says about getting abs in 5 weeks, it’s not going to happen. Just like you didn’t snap your fingers and instantly become bigger and heavier than you ever wanted to. You can’t snap your fingers and get slim and toned instantly. It took me 2 years to go from 308 lb to 225 lb. There simply is no shortcut in fitness or in regards to your nutrition. That being said, you need to prepare yourself to celebrate small results and to be patient. The transformation is happening, you just have to stick to a plan and consistently practice it.

Well, that is all for today. Next week I’m going to be talking about moving forward from here. This week I want you to focus on improving your starting spot.

Now go be AWESOME!
